New annual fee fixed for government ITI, SC/ST students to get 50% fee benefit

The state government has announced a revised annual fee structure for government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), aiming to make skill-based education more affordable and accessible. According to the latest notification, the new annual fee has been standardized across different trades, ensuring transparency and uniformity for all students enrolling in government ITIs.

In a significant move towards promoting inclusive education, the government has decided to provide 50% fee benefit to students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). This decision is expected to encourage more students from marginalized communities to pursue vocational training without being burdened by financial constraints. The authorities believe this initiative will help bridge the skill gap and open better employment opportunities for underprivileged youth.

Officials have clarified that apart from the fee relaxation for SC/ST students, the revised structure will also ensure that the overall cost of education at government ITIs remains affordable compared to private institutions. The move aligns with the larger vision of empowering the younger generation through skill development and technical education, which are crucial for India’s growing industries.

Education experts have welcomed the step, highlighting that reducing financial barriers will increase enrollment rates and prevent dropouts, especially among economically weaker sections. By making ITI training more accessible, the government also hopes to create a stronger skilled workforce that can contribute effectively to the nation’s development.

The government has urged eligible students and parents to take full advantage of this initiative. Institutions have been directed to update their admission guidelines and clearly communicate the revised fee structure and benefits. With this change, ITIs are set to become a more attractive option for students aspiring to build careers in technical and vocational fields.
