Nagpur and Nashik police filed FIR against CSDS’s Sanjay Kumar, accused of spreading election rumours | RD News Network

 

Nagpur and Nashik police have registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against Sanjay Kumar, associated with the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS). He has been accused of allegedly spreading false information and rumours related to elections. According to police sources, the complaints were filed after authorities noted that his statements and circulated material could mislead voters and disturb public order during the sensitive election period.

Officials in both cities stated that misinformation during elections can significantly impact democratic processes, and strict action will be taken against those attempting to influence or manipulate voters through rumours. The FIRs highlight sections pertaining to spreading false news and creating public unrest.

The case is now under investigation, and authorities have assured that further steps will be taken as per law.
