IPL Jerseys Worth ₹6.52 Lakh Stolen from Wankhede Stadium

In a shocking incident at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, 261 IPL jerseys valued at ₹6.52 lakh were stolen from the BCCI's official merchandise store. The accused, Farooque Aslam Khan, a 43-year-old security manager, was arrested after an internal audit revealed discrepancies. CCTV footage showed Khan removing a carton of jerseys on June 13, 2025. He sold the jerseys to a dealer in Haryana, claiming they were part of a clearance sale. Khan used the proceeds to fund his online gambling addiction, but he reportedly lost all the money. So far, 50 jerseys have been recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.
